Abeking & Rasmussen completes refit of the “Starfire”

Abeking & Rasmussen has successfully completed the refit of the 73-meter motor yacht “Starfire”, formerly known as “Saint Nicolas”.

Originally supplied by Lürssen, the yacht has been extensively refitted to improve both functionality and comfort as well as modernize technical and aesthetic features.

The twelve-month refit included several significant structural and design changes. One striking change is the extension of the stern by three meters, creating additional outdoor space for leisure activities such as water sports and dining in close proximity to the water. The sundeck has been transformed into a glazed, air-conditioned gym equipped with wellness facilities such as a sauna, cold-water pool and massage area.

In addition to these major refurbishment measures, “Starfire” was given new floor-to-ceiling windows on the main and upper decks, which provide more daylight and a panoramic view of the sea. The interiors on all decks have been completely renovated to create a modern and luxurious atmosphere. In addition, various technical systems on board have been overhauled and upgraded to ensure reliable operation in the years to come.

The exterior of the yacht has been completely repainted, giving “Starfire” a contemporary look. The new color scheme, extended window areas and structural adjustments contribute to a much more modern profile.

Abeking & Rasmussen worked together with several partners

The refit project was carried out in collaboration with several partners. Pascoli International was responsible for the exterior design adjustments, Patrick Knowles Design took care of the interior design and Murray & Associates designed the concept for the stern extension. Further support came from Arrow Yachts, with the project being closely coordinated with the yacht’s captain and crew.

“This refit has not only given the yacht a strikingly modern appearance, particularly with the new color scheme and generous window areas, but also represents the excellent teamwork and smooth collaboration of everyone involved,” said Hannes Köhler, Project Manager at Abeking & Rasmussen. “Together, we have made the vision for this iconic yacht a reality.”

The refit of Starfire reflects a growing trend in the superyacht sector, where owners are increasingly turning to comprehensive refits to extend the life of their vessels and incorporate modern technology and equipment.

“Starfire is now ready for service again following the completion of the work at Abeking & Rasmussen and will be operated with optimized systems and improved guest areas in the future.
