AAL expands capacity between Europe and Asia

Heavy lift shipping company AAL Shipping has expanded its MPP services and tonnage capacity between Europe and Asia with a monthly “Europe-Asia Express Liner Service”.

To meet the growing market demand for reliable multipurpose heavy lift services from Europe, AAL has expanded its existing portfolio of services. The existing “Europe – Middle East/India – Asia (EUMEIA) Monthly Liner Service” and a monthly “Mediterranean – Middle East – India Pendulum Service” will be joined by a scheduled monthly “Europe – Asia” express liner service connecting Antwerp with the cities of Taichung, Shanghai and Masan.

“We have listened to the market and expanded our already popular premium multipurpose services to meet a variety of customer needs with more tonnage and more connections,” explained Eike Muentz, General Manager of AAL Europe. “Our portfolio of three different monthly services provides customers with regular, reliable and flexible sailings between Europe and its key trading markets around the world, benefiting from the use of premium multipurpose vessels from all classes of the AAL fleet – including our new Super B-Class, which has already proven its cargo handling capabilities by transporting 89,000 freight tons of general cargo on a single voyage from Asia to Europe.”

While all three services utilize the global fleet of heavy lift multipurpose vessels ranging from 19,000 dwt to 33,000 dwt, the “Europe-Asia Express Liner Service” also uses Super B class vessels, which offer a lifting capacity of up to 700 tn and a free weather deck area of over 5,000 m². This provides the company with the handling and reception capacity to handle any cargo on any voyage, from oversized heavy lift units to smaller general cargo and even bulk cargo.

Jan-Henrik Heyken, Senior Chartering Manager at AAL Europe, added: “The Europe-Asia Express liner service will depart from the main project cargo centers in Western Europe and connect them directly to Taichung, Shanghai, Masan and other ports of call on the route.”

With these three different services, there is something for everyone. “Depending on the cargo request, destination, schedule and laycan requirements, we can select the optimal ex-Europe service that best suits our customers and their project needs, while providing the assurance of award-winning reliability and handling quality that the market has come to expect from AAL.”
